The much coveted 2nd volume of Varney The Vampyre or, The Feast of Blood by James Malcolm Rymer or Thomas Peckett Prest with the purple cover.  

These volumes are the most notorious of the Victorian Age’s “Penny Dreadful” style of popular literature. Here in this facsimile of the 1847 edition the pages are laid out just like the original 1840s booklets, with tiny text, original woodcut illustrations as well as a color illustrated cover. Also features an introduction by American fantasy fiction editor E.F. Bleiler.

• Condition is very good considering - just grubby edges mostly, foxing on top edge with minor creasing and a few marks and scuffs but remarkably the spine has no creasing. The spine colour has sun fading discolouration.  Inside the cover has former owners magical sigil inked.
