Vintage and antique mourning jewellery and clothing. Popularised in the Victorian era when the Queen was in mourning herself, it was polite in society to subdue the jewellery and accessories during the mourning period, gradually permitting a little more lustre on the jewels and a little more decoration in the latter stages of grief.
