Vintage Kay’s Practical Embroiderer Template Kit No2
“Kay’s Practical Embroiderer No2. Acclaimed as the most ingenious method of embroidery ever discovered. Sanctioned by Education Authorities for use in schools.”
Fascinating little kit with brass templates that look more like martial arts throwy things, but they are used to create the embroidered shapes.
It comes with comprehensive instruction pamphlets with plenty of design ideas inside. The outer brown envelope which they came in is torn but the inner envelope is good and templates are sound, just a little stiff to manouvre. But I’m sure a little coaxing and polishing will sort them out, they are over 80 years old.
Vintage sizing is very different to modern day sizes, they’re usually smaller depending on the era of manufacture. So to ensure a good fit please go by the measurements provided. I measure the garment laid flat edge to absolute edge then double, which give the maximum, you will need to measure your own clothes to compare sizing.
